Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Global Sourcing Manager to lead technology purchases (Software, SaaS, Infrastructure) regionally and globally. You will develop and implement sourcing strategies with IT, security and legal to prepare recommendations for senior management.

This role requires strong negotiation and relationship management, cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Legal and Business stakeholders, and experience with SAP or purchasing systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing (internships/co-ops not counted).
• Analytical thinking with negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Strategic mindset with ability to craft a technology roadmap with IT.
• Data judgement to analyze data and advise recommendations.
• Informative communication to leaders and stakeholders.
• Relationship management to build cooperative working relationships.

• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Software, IT, and Automotive industries and the strategic direction GM software and services are headed.
• Partner with IT, Business, Legal, and Security to shape supply base and technology roadmap.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms; manage supplier performance and renewals.
• Develop benchmark data to drive strategy and maintain supplier relationships.
• Communicate with leadership and cross-functional teams on sourcing recommendations.
