Job summary

Nike is seeking a Senior Accountant for the Global SG&A Accounting team in Beaverton. You will lead close activities, prepare journal entries and analyses, and collaborate with Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Global Finance Operations to drive accurate reporting.

You will support improvements to accounting policies and controls, ensuring timely and reliable financial statements while communicating risks and resolutions to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, technical accounting, or operational excellence in a large multinational.
• Understanding and experience with US GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint is a plus.
• Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers in a large corporation.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments with multiple priorities while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate status, issues, and risks to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results preparation.
• Ensure policy and project governance with controls related to SG&A spend and accrued liabilities.
• Engage with business partners to communicate financial implications of SG&A spend and accounting conclusions.
• Drive continuous improvement with our managed service provider and finance partners for efficient accounting processes and reporting.
