Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Security Compliance Specialist Principal Lead to steer enterprise-wide security compliance initiatives and orchestrate governance across complex cloud environments.

You will architect adaptable control frameworks, coordinate with engineering teams, and partner with external audit bodies to secure regulatory authorization. You will translate complex requirements into actionable risk assessments and strategic briefings, leading end-to-end audit lifecycles

Qualifications

• 10+ years relevant experience in security/compliance
• Experience across multiple frameworks (DoD SRG IL4/IL5/IL6, CMMC, NIST SP 800-171/53, FedRAMP, SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS)
• Experience in Cloud Service Provider environments or with a Third-Party Assessment Organization (3PAO/C3PAO)
• Ability to interface with senior executives and government/defense stakeholders
• Credentials: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSP, CMMC Assessor/Professional, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement unified control frameworks satisfying DoD and international standards
• Collaborate with security architects, engineers, and system owners to design verifiable controls
• Serve as primary technical interface for 3PAOs, C3PAOs, audit bodies, and defense agencies
• Manage end-to-end assessment lifecycles, evidence gathering, and remediations
• Synthesize gaps, findings and regulatory shifts into risk models and briefings
• Drive continuous monitoring and recurring audit workflows across lifecycles
