Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Security Architect to drive security compliance for distributed systems and cloud-based architectures.

You will translate requirements into security blueprints, support audits, and collaborate with engineering and InfoSec to define remediation and governance. Focus areas include designing security architectures, developing control frameworks, and improving control adoption through AI and automation across Akamai’s global platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience assessing security in cloud systems, Internet technologies, infrastructure, applications, and data governance.
• Expertise in PCI DSS requirements, control assessment, and audit support.
• Proven experience designing security architectures and control frameworks for distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Assessing cloud, network, infrastructure, and application designs against security and compliance requirements
• Translating requirements into technical specifications, security blueprints, and engineering guardrails
• Supporting compliance programs, control assessments, and audits using Akamai's common control framework
• Working with engineering and InfoSec to investigate security risks and define remediation
• Improving adoption and monitoring of security controls through AI and automation
