Job summary

Amazon Leo is building a robust, globally distributed network to support manufacturing facilities, research labs, launch sites, and mission operations centers. The Network Development Engineer will lead deployment, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical enterprise networks with emphasis on availability, performance, and security.

The role requires strong routing protocol experience and Linux/Unix expertise, with additional exposure to automation scripting.

Qualifications

4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience.
Automation scripting experience with Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

Deployment and ongoing maintenance of complex network solutions in manufacturing and lab environments.
Ensure robust network operations supporting launch and mission activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues.
Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives.
Enhance and manage monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
Drive automation initiatives to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations.
