Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Director of Risk & Corporate Insurance to lead the global insurance and risk financing strategy, protecting the firm’s balance sheet and operations. You will identify, quantify, and mitigate enterprise risk exposures through risk transfer, governance, and integration across the organization.

This senior role requires influencing senior leadership, building a high‑performing team, and coordinating across jurisdictions to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in insurance risk management, including program design and risk transfer.
• Broad understanding of asset management and enterprise risk domains.
• Strong knowledge of global insurance markets and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership on complex risk issues.
• Experience leading and developing a risk and insurance team.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for global insurance and risk financing, including limits and retention.
• Lead underwriting, policy placement, and renewal negotiations to optimize terms.
• Evaluate enterprise risk exposures using loss data to inform risk transfer decisions.
• Integrate risk and insurance into contracts, vendors, and corporate initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory insurance requirements.
• Oversee claims and litigation with Legal, driving recovery and improvements.
• Deliver risk reporting and insights to senior leadership and boards.
• Drive continuous improvement of risk frameworks, tools, and processes.
• Provide leadership to the Global Risk & Insurance function and team development.
• Engage with executives to provide independent, data-driven risk perspectives.
• Lead cross-functional risk initiatives across jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
• Advance innovative approaches to risk financing and analytics for resilience.
