Job summary

Ping Identity is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead our global revenue organization, including revenue accounting, technical revenue accounting, and accounts receivable. This role collaborates with Sales, Product, Legal and Finance to support evolving products and commercial arrangements, while ensuring SOX-compliant processes and accurate reporting.

The candidate will manage multiple teams, drive close processes, and own internal controls, reporting to the Assistant Controller

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with responsibility for revenue recognition in a software/technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and applying guidance to SaaS, term licenses, support, services, and complex arrangements.
• Experience leading multiple accounting teams or functions including managers and individual contributors.
• Experience overseeing accounts receivable operations, collections, aging, and credit loss assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global revenue accounting, technical revenue accounting, and accounts receivable teams, establishing clear priorities and accountability.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly revenue close, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Direct the technical accounting review of complex contracts and new product offerings, ensuring ASC 606 conclusions are documented and consistently applied.
• Oversee accounts receivable operations, including collections, cash application, aging analysis, and credit loss reserves.
• Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Product, Legal and other teams to evaluate new offerings before implementation.
• Manage and develop leaders across the revenue organization to build technical accounting expertise and execution.
• Own revenue and accounts receivable processes, systems, and internal controls and work with Finance Systems to resolve issues.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
