Job summary

Viatris is a global healthcare company uniquely positioned to bridge generics and brands. The Director, Global Technical Services - Respiratory leads technical aspects of externally manufactured products and tech transfer projects to align with commercial targets.

Responsibilities include managing CMOs, leading risk-based improvements, and collaborating with R&D, Quality and Sourcing to ensure on-time delivery, safety, quality, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related science field is required.
• Experience in pharmaceutical development and GMP manufacturing, preferably for respiratory products.
• Experience in at least one of: OINDP, parenteral, blow-fill-seal, vaccine, or drug/device combinations.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute experimental plans in commercial plants.
• Experience of statistical analysis and reporting of results to both technical and senior leader stakeholders.
• Ability to build, lead, and technically manage matrix teams responsible for delivery of complex products.
• Clear demonstration of leadership behaviors including influencing, negotiation, conflict management and senior stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects of externally manufactured products for the Respiratory portfolio.
• Partner with Respiratory R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing and others to manage contract manufacturing capabilities.
• Be the technical point of contact for CMOs including evaluation of performance and capacity.
• Independently manage CMOs/vendors to agreed project timelines and budgets, with risk mitigations.
• Develop and execute tech transfer plans in collaboration with Respiratory R&D and Manufacturing Operations.
• Lead investigations and CAPA closures for external manufacturing topics including process, QC, stability, and materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, productivity and reliability of manufacturing processes.
• Act as SME and develop technical proficiency of Viatris colleagues.
• Drive continuous improvement of existing technologies and support new tech introductions in partnership with Quality and R&D.
