Canonical is hiring a Cloud Support Engineer for a globally remote role with flexible scheduling and weekend rotation. You will support customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products, translating complex issues into clear, empathetic solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering teams, knowledge base authorship, and direct customer impact across diverse regions. An undergraduate technical degree and Linux fluency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux and cloud familiarity with OpenStack or similar stacks.
• Ability to troubleshoot logs and stack traces with a methodical approach.
• Fundamental programming logic to aid collaboration with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers through remote sessions, tickets, and live chats to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to translate fixes into customer value.
• Own and communicate status and timelines clearly to customers.
• Provide Ubuntu lifecycle guidance and timelines for engineering fixes.
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles for the community.
• Participate in a regular weekend rotation to ensure global coverage.
