Job summary

MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a quality-oriented engineer to support daily QA activities and drive quality improvements across products and processes.

You will collaborate with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to investigate issues, analyze data, conduct audits, and assist with CAPA, FMEA, and process validation while maintaining rigorous attention to detail and a constant drive to reduce defects and waste.

Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Engineers with day-to-day quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
  • Assist in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of product, process, and supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze quality data to identify trends, monitor KPIs, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and CAPA activities.
  • Assist in conducting process audits, layered process audits, and product inspections to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist with validation and verification activities for new products, manufacturing processes, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving process capability, and eliminating waste.
  • Support statistical analysis activities using tools such as Excel, Minitab, or other quality software.
  • Help monitor supplier and manufacturing quality performance by preparing reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in FMEA, Process Flow Diagram, and Control Plan development and updates as assigned.
  • Support customer quality investigations and warranty analysis by gathering and analyzing product performance data.
  • Perform other engineering and quality-related assignments as directed to support business objectives and professional development.
