About this role

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Global Purchasing Manager to oversee and enhance our purchasing operations. This pivotal role will be instrumental in reimagining and developing a more robust purchasing department. As a part of our global supply chain team, you will work closely with the Director of Global Supply Chain to optimize our procurement processes and strategies on an international scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the purchasing department, overseeing all purchasing activities, and ensuring they align with organizational goals and standards.
  • Develop, implement, and refine purchasing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and terms to secure advantageous terms.
  • Oversee the implementation and efficient use of ERP systems such as JDE and Oracle to streamline purchasing processes.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to inform purchasing decisions and forecast needs.
  • Plan and manage inventory levels to align with production schedules and operational demands.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics for international travel related to supplier assessments, negotiations, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the purchasing department by leveraging industry best practices and innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years’ experience in purchasing or procurement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in ERP systems, specifically JDE and Oracle.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven track record of managing all phases of the purchasing process.
  • Ability to travel internationally approximately 10% of the time.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and engage stakeholders across diverse geographies.
