Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a leader to head Publications Teams and oversee publication plans for assigned assets. You will coordinate cross-functionally with key global stakeholders to ensure scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations align with strategic objectives.

You will manage resources and budgets, guide internal writers and external vendors, and ensure high-quality, timely publication deliverables in compliance with publication policies and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required; PhD, PharmD, or Master’s Degree preferred.
• 4–5 years of medical/scientific publications experience in pharma or medical communications.
• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and senior-level presentation skills.
• Knowledge of clinical/scientific publication structure, regulations, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional Publications Team(s) for assigned assets and drive publication plans.
• Oversee tactical execution of publications (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations).
• Review publications for quality and alignment with platforms and communications.
• Partner with Directors to manage outsourcing budgets and internal resources.
• Provide direction to internal/external writers and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality outputs.
