Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Propulsion HIL Systems & Hardware Engineer in Michigan to join the Propulsion System HIL team. You will develop and validate hardware-in-the-loop simulators for propulsion, interfacing with SW, controls, CAL, and ECU teams to ensure robust integration for ICE, hybrid, and BEV configurations.

You will work with global teams to benchmark and evaluate HIL technologies, and support rapid configuration of HIL setups across multiple vehicle configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical/electronics, hardware, software or controls.
• Knowledge of ICE, Transmission, Vehicle Dynamics, EE, electric and hybrid systems.
• Demonstrated Hardware-in-the-Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL).
• Hands-on with dSPACE Simulators (Scalexio), Harness design and electrical loads.
• Experience with HIL wiring harness, load box design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK.
• Knowledge of CAN stack, SPI, LIN, Flash bootloader integration.
• Knowledge of CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS, XCP protocol.
• Familiarity with ETAS INCA and trace capture/data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Interface with HIL development and external teams (SW, Controls, CAL) for requirements and impact analysis.
• Rapidly configure HIL simulators for vehicle configurations and resolve integration issues.
• Triage and troubleshoot HIL test properties during commissioning.
• Collaborate with ECU hardware, systems, SW, controls, plant modeling and calibration engineers.
• Work with global teams (NA/EMEA/APAC/LATAM) on benchmarks and new HIL technologies.
