Overview

Job Title: Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Propulsion and Commissioning Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Responsibilities

• Design and build HIL benches that mimic Stellantis’ propulsion systems.
• Commission new HIL setups by configuring hardware, wiring, and software connections.
• Run tests to validate propulsion features (engine controls, transmission, hybrid systems, battery systems).
• Troubleshoot and fix issues in hardware/software integration.
• Support Stellantis engineers by providing accurate test data and reporting results.
• Maintain and upgrade test systems as new propulsion technologies are introduced.
• Work closely with Stellantis’ cross-functional teams (software, controls, wiring, calibration, and suppliers) to ensure successful validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Hands-on experience with HIL systems (such as dSPACE or NI systems).
• Knowledge of propulsion systems – internal combustion, hybrid, or electric.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools.
• Good problem-solving, debugging, and teamwork skills.
