Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Project Manager to lead the Modifications and Upgrades program. You will be the primary customer contact during project execution, coordinating with engineers, manufacturing, vendors and subcontractors to ensure scope, budget and schedule are met.

This role manages multiple projects, develops and maintains schedules, drives risk mitigation, handles changes and invoicing, and ensures complete financial closeout.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 7 years of professional experience and 3+ years of successful experience in project management.
• Willingness to travel for business within the continental US and Canada from 35% to 50%.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite; Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics.
• PMP Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3 to 5 projects at a time of differing scopes of average complexity at various end customer locations.
• Develop and maintain customer valued relationships.
• Manage the transition from Sales to Operations and lead the Project Kickoff Meetings.
• Review project contract requirements.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule that is communicated internally and externally to ensure tasks are achieved on time according to plan.
• Meet with Engineering managers to assign resources.
• Work with Procurement to issue and manage vendors and subcontracts.
• Work with customer, project teams and integrator partner to establish project milestones, billable deliverables and invoicing schedule.
• Maintain consistent communications with the customer on project status.
• Conduct regular project design review and status update meetings.
• Identify and manage project risks with actionable mitigation strategies.
• Forecast monthly costs for revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, analyze project profitability and report out status on a regular basis.
• Provide direction to the project team including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks and technical functions.
• Provide direction to sub-contractors as necessary to coordinate their work along with Dematic team members.
• Coordinate the shipment and verification of materials to the project sites.
• Travel to project sites to meet with the customer and project team, get status updates, coordinate activities and provide direction.
• Generate implementation, testing, acceptance and go-live plans.
• Effectively communicate issues, develop resolution and negotiate Change Orders when necessary.
• Manage as built documentation completion and delivery to customer.
• Ensure complete project financial closeout and turnover to support organization.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and one on one meetings as well as other regularly scheduled department meetings.
