Job summary

American University Washington College of Law seeks a Program Assistant (Graduate Assistant/Student Employee) for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.

This role supports event planning, seminars, and fellowship activities, with strong emphasis on organization and cross-cultural communication. The position is limited to enrolled AU students, part-time (20 hours/week), non-exempt, paying $18.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with professionalism.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing program events (virtual and in-person).
• Provide administrative and logistical support for the Humphrey Fellowship Program.
• Maintain and update the Humphrey Program website and social media accounts.
• Offer comprehensive support to Humphrey Fellows, including class registration.
• Manage room reservations and program documentation.
• Prepare reports, communications, and presentations for stakeholders.
