Job summary

Amazon seeks a Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead global Process Safety Management initiatives and RBPS programs across facilities worldwide. The role focuses on hazard analysis, risk reduction, and compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and Seveso directives, including hydrogen safety and new energy systems.

You will drive PHAs, LOPA, FMEA, and risk communications, mentor regional teams, and develop tools and metrics to advance safety performance in a complex industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Experience with fire and building codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, FM Global, IFC, IBC).
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Process safety Engineering.
• 6+ years of Process safety engineering in Manufacturing with design, installation and commissioning.
• Knowledge of P&ID aided risk evaluation across HHC infrastructure.
• Experience with PHA, LOPA and FMEA using tools like PHA Pro, PHA Works.

Responsibilities

• Lead or facilitate PHAs (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA) across global operations and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate process safety risks and coordinate development of process safety information.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, Seveso and apply RAGAGEP across HHC sites.
• Develop RBPS governance framework and standardize processes.
• Serve as SME in alternative energy safety (hydrogen, biofuels) and coordinate safe design/operation.
• Design and implement global PSM systems in line with CCPS RBPS pillars and regulations.
• Define KPIs and report progress to senior leadership.
