Job summary
Celanese is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Process Controls & Automation to provide strategic leadership across Celanese's manufacturing network. You will advance automation capabilities, establish standards, and drive implementation of process control solutions to improve safety, reliability, and performance. Can be located at a US manufacturing site.
You will lead a global team of experts, oversee major upgrades, and partner with senior leaders to align strategy with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, Chemical or related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, or related process manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of DCS and industrial automation technologies.
- Experience implementing process control systems, including application development, testing, commissioning, startup support, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of automation business drivers and alarm management programs.
- Demonstrated financial acumen and experience supporting technology investments.
- Ability to lead technical teams and communicate with senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and drive the global Process Control Roadmap.
- Support planning & coordination of DCS, PLC, and process control system upgrades across all Celanese sites.
- Support digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 transformation initiatives linked to DCS, Automation, and Alarm Management.
- Provide strategic direction and technical guidance for control system modernization and upgrade projects.
- Lead and support a global team of BPCS and Process Control experts.
- Support control system upgrades for brownfield projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key process control, automation, and DCS suppliers.
- Apply expertise to evaluate and recommend upgrade solutions.
- Lead deployment and advancement of the Alarm Management program.
- Prioritize and support process control-related capital investments.
- Partner with senior leaders to drive alignment and successful execution of the global strategy.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and technical leadership to resolve critical challenges.
