Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Mateo, CA or London, England, is seeking a Senior Director, Legal - Global Privacy & Data Counsel to lead the Privacy Team and shape SIE's global privacy program across a data-driven technology and entertainment company.

You will design policies, drive compliance with GDPR, CCPA and other regulations, promote privacy-by-design, train staff, manage third-party risk, and report to executives and the board as the privacy program scales worldwide.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree; CS/IT degree a plus.
• 20+ years of legal experience with 10+ years in senior privacy leadership.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and regional privacy frameworks.
• Experience designing scalable privacy programs.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Privacy Team across legal, operations and compliance.
• Develop and evolve a robust privacy program aligned with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA and other regulations.
• Advocate privacy-by-design in product development.
• Review policies, notices, and forms, and disseminate them company-wide.
• Conduct privacy training for employees and management.
• Develop vendor privacy assessments and contracts.
• Oversee privacy PIAs.
• Maintain incident response plan for privacy breaches.
• Provide reports to executives and board.
