Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Power Systems/IPG to lead large, complex power generation projects from award to customer acceptance. You will steer multi-disciplinary teams, manage executive relationships, and ensure safe, on-time, and profitable delivery at customer sites.

In this role you will mentor project managers, drive continuous improvement, and shape commercial outcomes through effective contract administration, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Energy Systems, or related) from an accredited university.
• An advanced degree (MBA or Master's) is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience managing complex industrial, infrastructure, energy, or power generation projects.
• Strong track record delivering large capital projects with financial, schedule, quality, and customer objectives.
• Expertise in commercial management, contract administration, claims, and change orders.
• Experience managing executive-level customer relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
• Ability to lead multifunctional and geographically dispersed teams in a global project environment.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and PMP/ PMI certification is desirable.
• Knowledge of gas turbine technology, power generation systems, modular power solutions, EPC projects is preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Leadership: Lead execution of large-scale power projects aligned with contracts and business objectives from handover to acceptance.
• Customer & Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with customer leadership and key stakeholders; act as escalation point.
• Commercial & Financial Ownership: Own project revenue, margin, cash collection, and forecasting; drive profitability.
• Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Promote best practices and process improvements across project portfolio.
• Risk & Opportunity Management: Develop risk strategies to mitigate technical, commercial, supply chain, and execution risks.
• Coaching & Mentorship: Mentor project managers and teams.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead teams across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and commercial ops.
• Site Execution & Commissioning Leadership: Oversee milestones including installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance at customer sites.
