Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston seeks a Senior Project Manager for Power Systems and Industrial Power Generation to lead large-scale projects across the full lifecycle from handover to commissioning.

This role requires strong leadership across engineering, operations, and commercial teams, with proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk while delivering exceptional customer outcomes. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university (MBA or Master’s is a plus).
• Significant experience managing complex industrial, infrastructure, energy, or power generation projects (minimum 5 years).
• Proven track record delivering large capital projects meeting financial, schedule, quality, and customer objectives.
• Strong expertise in commercial management, contract administration, claims, and change order execution.
• Experience leading multifunctional, geographically dispersed teams in a global project environment.
• PMP, PMI, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Leadership – Leading execution of large-scale power generation projects and overseeing the lifecycle from handover to commissioning.
• Customer & Stakeholder Management – Build strong relationships with customer leadership and major stakeholders; primary escalation point for commercial and contractual matters.
• Commercial & Financial Ownership – Own project revenue, margin, cash collection and forecasting; drive profitability through optimized execution.
• Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement – Promote best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements across the project portfolio.
• Risk & Opportunity Management – Develop risk strategies to identify and mitigate technical, commercial, supply-chain, and execution risks.
• Coaching & Mentorship – Provide guidance to project managers and teams.
• Cross-Functional Leadership – Lead teams across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, site services, and finance.
• Site Execution & Commissioning Leadership – Support milestones including installation, commissioning, testing, and customer acceptance.
