Job summary

Avalere Health in New York seeks a VP, Group Account Director to lead key client accounts at a global pharma agency, delivering strategic leadership and client success.

You will establish senior-level client relationships, supervise Account Directors and teams, manage profitability, and contribute to new business opportunities while guiding brand planning and cross‑functional collaboration with creative teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Brand AOR account experience and 5+ years in pharmaceutical advertising agency environment.
• 5+ years of leadership and supervisory experience.
• Rare disease experience highly preferred.
• Brand launch experience required; prelaunch market-shaping disease state education preferred.
• Experience developing, producing, and leading multi-channel marketing plans and initiatives.
• Hands-on proficiency in developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations.
• Willingness to travel based on client business needs.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the client’s business within the agency and lead the agency team.
• Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships and provide strategic value.
• Lead annual brand planning and supervise Account Directors and senior staff.
• Manage account financial performance and profitability.
• Collaborate with creative teams to deliver high-quality campaigns.
• Guide team members’ career paths and provide regular feedback.
