Job summary

Fal.ai Inc. is hiring a Foundational Global Payroll Manager to own end-to-end payroll for a distributed team, including US W-2s, US contractors, and global payroll via EORs.

The role requires meticulous handling of bonuses, commissions, and equity-related payroll as headcount scales across states and countries. You will run current cycles in Rippling, establish scalable processes, ensure compliance, and partner with Finance and People teams to implement processes for new jurisdictions and

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive payroll experience, including full ownership of multi-state US payroll.
• Hands-on global payroll through EORs; paying US and international contractors (1099s, W-8BENs, classification).
• Deep knowledge of federal/state/local payroll tax, FLSA, and year-end reporting.

Responsibilities

• US W-2 payroll: full-cycle multi-state payroll in Rippling; tax compliance and year-end filing.
• Hourly, non-exempt, and intern pay: CA daily OT, premium calculations, and labor-law compliance.
• Global EOR payroll: monthly inputs, country setup, and compliance checks.
• US/global contractors: payments, 1099s/W-8BENs, and GL reconciliation.
• Bonuses/commissions: withholding and payroll for equity events.
• Controls and audits: payroll JEs, GL recs, accruals, and filings.
