Nextpower, a rapidly growing global energy technology company, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for the US and international entities. The role combines hands-on processing with process improvement and compliance.

You will audit payroll, manage quarterly and year-end filings, collaborate with vendors and state agencies, and guide the payroll team to ensure accurate, timely compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in payroll.
• Experience with payroll systems/HRIS; at least 2 years in Workday.
• Strong knowledge of US payroll labor laws and payroll tax requirements.
• Some experience with international payroll via payroll vendors.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit payroll for accuracy and completeness, resolving discrepancies before finalization.
• Manage internal and external payroll audits.
• Handle quarterly and year-end payroll tax filings for US and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with state agencies to resolve tax discrepancies.
• Identify and implement new procedures to streamline payroll operations and automation.
• Participate in payroll system testing and enhancements.
• Provide guidance and training to the payroll administrator and support global payroll activities.
