Job summary

Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (ATSG) is seeking a Director of Payroll to lead payroll operations across a geographically dispersed workforce.

You will establish enterprise payroll standards, optimize processes, and partner with Accounting/Finance, HR, IT, and operating company leadership to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The role requires deep technical payroll expertise, strong leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset to advance ATSG’s payroll operations while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a payroll leadership capacity.
• Experience overseeing multi-state payroll operations for a large organization.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and payroll reporting.
• Experience with payroll systems, controls, reconciliations, and SOX considerations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee payroll operations across ATSG and operating companies.
• Establish enterprise-wide payroll policies and service standards.
• Oversee payroll processing, adjustments, deductions, and off-cycle payroll activities.
• Manage varied pay structures including salaried and hourly workers.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, and Finance on regulatory changes and policies.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain confidentiality.
