Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Payroll Analyst to oversee global payroll processing and reporting. You will ensure compliance across U.S., Canada, and other regions, while supporting cross-functional HR and Finance teams.

The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in Workday and Excel. Collaboration with external vendors and internal stakeholders is essential for accurate tax filings and year-end activities.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state or international environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices.
• 1-2 years of full payroll cycle experience in Workday.
• Strong understanding of U.S. payroll and taxation, experience supporting end-to-end Canadian payroll processing, reconciliations, year-end activities, and international payroll practices.
• Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, for payroll calculations and reporting.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills for employee support and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to support payroll processing, auditing, research, and process improvement.
• CPP or FPC certification from PayrollOrg (preferred).
• Knowledge of Global Mobility Payroll or expatriates payroll (preferred).
• Experience with HRIS such as ServiceNow and ADP SmartCompliance (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile multi-country payrolls, including U.S. domestic, Canada and other global payrolls, international assignee (expat/inpat), and shadow payrolls.
• Serve as the Canada payroll subject matter expert, supporting end-to-end payroll processing, reconciliations, year-end activities, and compliance requirements.
• Manage complex payroll components including expatriate allowances, hypothetical taxes, tax equalization, and gross ups.
• Serve as a primary contact for third-party payroll tax vendors, such as ADP, to ensure accurate tax filing, wage reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and reconciliations.
• Ensure payroll procedures comply with federal, state, local, Canadian, and applicable global payroll requirements; maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and changes in tax legislation.
