Databricks is seeking a Manager, Payroll Accounting to lead the payroll accounting team based in India, partnering across PeopleOps, Payroll Operations, Global Accounting, and FP&A to ensure compliant, timely payroll records.

This role blends leadership with technical accounting, overseeing complex journal entries, equity compensation, and multi-currency reconciliations, while driving automation and AI to streamline data flows across payroll, equity, and finance systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years progressive accounting experience, with 8+ years in payroll.
• 4+ years in a supervisory role in a US multinational.
• CA/CPA certification is required; CPP strongly preferred.
• Equity compensation accounting experience (RSUs, stock options, ESPP).
• Automation/AI adoption in payroll or accounting operations.
• Deep US GAAP, multi-jurisdiction tax laws, and SOX compliance; SAP/Workday familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end payroll closes and balance reconciliations.
• Perform monthly payroll flux analysis for leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead payroll accounting across global entities (NL, BR, FR, DE, IN).
• Manage multi-currency ledgers, FX adjustments, and intercompany charges.
• Provide technical oversight for stock-based compensation and commissions.
• Own equity payroll tax treatment and GL reconciliation.
• Lead payroll audits, ensuring SOX and US GAAP compliance.
• Partner with Legal, Tax, and external teams to set up new subsidiaries.
• Drive AI and automation in payroll processes.
• Hire, train, and mentor a payroll accounting team.
