Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Solution Architect within Global Payment Solutions to design and assure end-to-end payment solutions that are secure, scalable, and compliant. You will partner with product, engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and risk to translate business outcomes into architectural designs.

The role emphasizes governance, proof-of-design, and operational readiness, with focus on NFRs, performance, and secure API integration across a payments ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Proven solution architecture experience delivering complex, distributed systems.
• Experience with ISO 20022 payments and messaging transformation.
• Strong API, messaging, or event-driven integration knowledge.
• Security-by-design mindset across IAM, encryption and secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Own solution architecture across payments platform initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into designs for applications, data, integration, infra, security.
• Produce and maintain architecture artifacts (HLD/LLD, ADRs).
• Design integration patterns (API-led, event-driven, file-based).
• Define NFRs for availability, latency, DR, observability.
