Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive the technical strategy and architecture for cross-border and digital asset payment capabilities. You will guide multiple teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant global payment solutions.

The role requires mentoring engineers, shaping engineering standards, and partnering with product, design, and architecture to deliver high-impact features. Hybrid model in multiple cities including San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Twelve+ years of relevant experience.
• Nine+ years in distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, microservices.
• Hands-on Docker experience.
• Proven experience leading design of complex payment platforms in regulated environments.
• Deep knowledge of digital asset or stablecoins systems.
• Two+ years frontend experience (Angular/React).
• Eight+ years of Java/Spring experience with Maven/Gradle.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Shape engineering approaches with product and architecture teams.
• Own technical strategy for broad or complex requirements.
• Own architecture for cross-border money movement and digital asset settlement.
• Resolve scalability challenges across distributed payment platforms.
• Mentor engineers and guide secure, resilient payment solutions.
• Own department-wide design patterns and code approaches.
• Review code outputs from multiple teams for quality.
• Resolve conflicts between teams and align on solutions.
• Lead architecture, design, prototyping, and implementation.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional sessions and influence decisions.
• Lead a broad functional area and drive planning.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on features.
