Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a senior engineering architect to lead the technical strategy and architecture for cross-border payment capabilities within a regulated environment. You will guide architectural design, mentor multiple engineering teams, and ensure secure, scalable solutions across distributed systems.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups to shape features, review code, and influence long-term health of the systems in a hybrid work model

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Twelve+ years of relevant experience.
• Nine+ years in distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, microservices.
• Hands-on Docker experience.
• Proven experience leading design of complex cross-border payment platforms.
• Deep knowledge of digital asset or stablecoin-based systems.
• Two+ years frontend development with modern frameworks (Angular/React).
• Eight+ years with Java/Spring; Maven/Gradle proficiency.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging frameworks.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum/LEAN and DevOps practices.
• Background check.
• Background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Shape engineering approaches with cross-functional teams.
• Own the technical strategy for complex requirements beyond the direct team.
• Lead architectural design for cross-border money movement and digital asset settlement systems.
• Resolve scalability challenges across distributed payment platforms.
• Mentor engineers and guide secure, resilient global payment solutions.
• Define department-wide design patterns and code approaches.
• Review and validate multi-team code outputs.
• Resolve technical conflicts between teams.
• Drive architecture, prototyping and implementation to support product needs.
• Present to cross-functional teams and influence decisions.
