Job summary

LyondellBasell Industries seeks a Global Process Engineer for Partial Oxidation at the La Porte site. You will lead design and installation of long-term projects, mentor engineers, and coordinate with operations, safety, and maintenance to improve unit performance.

Requirements include a B.S. in chemical engineering and 10+ years in manufacturing, with strong process knowledge, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher degree in chemical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience with partial oxidation and syngas-methanol production.
• Strong understanding of unit processes and mass/energy balances.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations to maximize on-stream time and profitability while ensuring safe, compliant operation.
• Analyze complex operating issues and provide performance improvement recommendations.
• Support gap closure and continuous improvement with engineering calculations and capital/expense justification.
• Lead capital, expense, and special project scope development and execution.
• Provide technical expertise during troubleshooting, startups, shutdowns, and catalyst changes.
