Job summary

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is seeking a Global Operations Associate responsible for controlling freight forwarding shipments across multiple modes based on customer requests. The role emphasizes high-level operations excellence and delivering a quality customer service experience while maintaining station KPIs.

Key duties include tracking and inspecting shipments, contracting carriers, communicating status to stakeholders, running reports, and data entry into the TMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Track and trace outbound shipments.
• Inspect outbound freight.
• Contract new carriers and assign loads/pressures.
• Communicate freight status to stations and customers; update system.
• Provide customer service and run reports.
• Work overtime and weekend on-call rotations.
• Data entry of shipments in the Transportation Management System.
• Route domestic air and ground shipments (including Canada).
• Negotiate freight rates and develop carrier relationships.
• Identify new logistics opportunities and design carrier solutions for other offices.

JOB SUMMARY

The Global Operations Associate is responsible for controlling freight forwarding shipments into and out of the station across various modes of transportation based on customer requests. The primary focus is providing a high-level operations excellence and a quality customer service experience to all customers while maintaining station KPI’s.

Essential Functions

• Tracking and tracing outbound shipments
• Inspecting outbound freight
• Contracting new carriers as needed and assigning carriers and providing load tenders
• Communicating freight status and any problems to other stations and customers, and updating the system
• Provide customer service
• Run reports
• Able to work overtime and weekend on call rotations.
• Data entry of shipments into transportation management system
• Domestic air and ground routing (including Canada)
• Contract new carriers
• Negotiate Freight Rates
• Develop collaborative carrier relationships
• Assigning carriers and providing load tenders
• Find and develop new logistics/freight opportunities and design carrier solutions for other Pilot offices and external customers

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Multi-tasking while maintaining precise attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to type 35+ words per minute
• Must be able to work in demanding, high-volume environment, particularly with email and calls

Pay Range: $22 to $26 per hour

• The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
