Job summary

Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily logistics operations, monitor performance, and coordinate with customers, drivers, and vendors. The role emphasizes safe operations, process improvement, and strong attention to efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a customer-service background, solid financial literacy, and excellent communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operating processes and staffing to drive efficiency and assist the District Manager with general tasks.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with OSHA, laws and corporate policies.
• Train, supervise, coach and evaluate direct reports to foster effective communications.
• Review monthly KPIs and benchmarking data to guide improvements.
• Communicate freight status and issues to customers, vendors and Pilot stations.
• Handle freight via forklift; load/off-load trucks for optimal routing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.

The Operations Supervisor monitors all operations including but not limited to; Process shipments, prepare paperwork, communicate freight status and dispatch drivers for pickup. The supervisor will be the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations and vendors and provide quality customer service, while meeting company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for ongoing process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies. Assist District Manager with general tasks


• Responsible for ensuring safe operations as well as compliance with all OSHA regulations, all applicable laws, and Pilot’s Corporate Policies


• Effectively train, supervise, coach and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communications and morale


• Reviews operational key performance measures monthly as well as benchmarking data to drive any required correctional or improvement strategies


• Communicating freight status and any problems to customers, vendors and other Pilot stations and personnel


• Freight handling via forklift


• Load/Off-load build trucks for optimal routing


• Other duties as assigned

PayRange:

$65,000- $70,000 per year

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
