Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates seeks an Operational Risk Manager to support Mars Operational Risk Programs across segments globally. You will help identify, quantify and minimize exposure to loss and business interruption, partnering with risk engineers, insurers, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include governance, continuous improvement, and program effectiveness, with a focus on risk awareness and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management & Insurance, Health and Safety, or similar.
• 5+ years in property loss prevention, risk engineering, operational risk management, or related disciplines.
• Experience with compliance, auditing, governance, and reporting processes.
• Experience managing external vendors, consultants, and service providers.
• Knowledge of property loss prevention principles, fire protection, business continuity, and risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret risk data and identify trends.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a global environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and levels.
• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, or industrial environments.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to build internal/external relationships.
• Proven ability to coordinate/integrate successful teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~20%).
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; risk management, audit, or data analytics platforms are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Managing global risk activities, monitoring program performance, and overseeing third-party providers.
• Analyzing risk data and trends, coordinating audits and reviews, tracking remediation activities.
• Contributing to standards, tools, and reporting to enhance operational resilience and risk maturity.
• Support ACM and BRM program deployment and administration.
• Enhance and align current risk programs for future consolidation and efficiency.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across Mars locations and ensure site compliance.
• Maintain awareness of program technology and digital initiatives to improve delivery.
• Track program budgets, vendor spend, and service utilization.
• Coordinate with service providers to ensure contractual compliance and alignment with risk objectives.
• Participate in meetings and capture program-related data and records.
• Support onboarding and integration of acquisitions into Mars Operational Risk programs.
