Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline seeks a Global Publications Director to lead strategic publication plans and ensure alignment with medical strategies across global, regional, and country levels. You will manage cross-functional teams, external agencies, and governance standards to deliver compliant scientific communications.

Preferred candidates will have a PhD or equivalent, extensive pharma publication experience, and a track record in leveraging AI/GenAI to improve efficiency, quality, and impact of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, pharmacy, allied health, medical communications, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience including publications management and medical affairs.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and executing strategic publication plans in pharma/biotech.
• Experience leading cross-functional publication teams and managing deliverables.
• Experience aligning publication plans with medical strategy and regional needs.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent publication projects and risk.
• Experience communicating strategy and metrics to senior leaders.
• Experience managing external agency partners and budgets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional publication teams to develop strategic publication plans and execution tactics.
• Partner with Medical to integrate plans into the medical strategic framework.
• Ensure alignment across global, regional, and country levels.
• Maintain scientific knowledge of assets and publication rationale.
• Oversee publication plan execution within governance frameworks.
• Manage external agencies supporting publication deliverables.
• Maintain scientific integrity and compliance with policy.
• Drive adoption of AI, GenAI, and digital solutions in publications.
