Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks an Executive Director to serve as the senior Oncology policy and public affairs representative and to lead integrated policy and engagement strategies with global stakeholders and health organizations across inline and pipeline products.

You will manage a team of three tumor policy experts, partner with policy and cross-functional leaders, and report to the Associate VP Oncology Policy while coordinating across global forums and geographies including Rahway, NJ.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Policy or related field is required.
• 15+ years of global Oncology policy with major public health organizations.
• Proven ability to shape policy and advise senior executives on strategy.
• Strong leadership; able to lead across matrixed, cross-functional teams.
• Fluent English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated engagement strategies with global public health orgs focused on Oncology.
• Serve as the senior Oncology policy and public affairs representative to global bodies.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide policy, geopolitical, and public health guidance.
• Lead a team of three professionals aligned with Oncology policy strategy.
• Identify global policy trends and advise leadership on risks and opportunities.
• Strengthen relationships with global health organizations to advance priorities.
• Oversee briefing materials for policymakers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop internal/external narratives on global health policy and positions.
• Drive engagement with trade associations and coalitions through working groups.
• Contribute to strategic planning and performance evaluation for Global Public Policy.
