Job summary

BDP International in New York is seeking an entry-level Export Traffic Coordinator to join our Operations team. You will coordinate ocean export shipments, manage data entry, and distribute documents for customers.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in ocean exports or a similar role, strong MS Office skills, and a collaborative, detail-focused work style in a fast-paced environment. No relocation assistance; compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience handling ocean export functions.
• 1–3 years in a customer service environment.
• A college degree is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced office.
• Good communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills required.
• Candidate must possess a strong team work attitude; leadership is desired.
• Candidate must be PC literate with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate export trafficking functions, data entry, and document distribution for customer exports.
• Order processing: log docs, ensure US Customs compliance, arrange pickup/delivery, and finalize billing.
• Shipment status reporting: monitor and report non-conformances.
• Maintenance: keep tables current, assist in accounting, handle RFIs/RFQs.
• Prepare export declarations and Bills of Lading for Ocean Exports.
• Coordinate outbound movement of international freight and establish carrier rates.
• Knowledge of Letters of Credit is a plus.
