Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions is seeking a Process Development Manager in Schaumburg, IL. This role leads global NPI, process development, and automation initiatives, guiding a team to ensure smooth transfer to production and ongoing process improvements in high-speed interconnect manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Process Qualification, or New Product Introduction within electronics or connector manufacturing.
• At least 5 years in a Manager role.
• Strong problem-solving skills with data – SPC, Six Sigma.
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC X-Bar/R, Cmk/Cpk, R&R.
• Experience in high-speed stamping, injection molding, or precious metal plating is a plus.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and statical engineering methods.
• Decisive leadership with accountability for outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate activities for the NPI teams globally.
• Participate in Design Reviews and provide feedback on connectors (DFM).
• Analyze process data and advise ME team to optimize assembly processes.
• Coordinate process qualification and customer samples through NPI personnel.
• Transfer to Production once development documents and qualifications are complete.
• Lead root cause analysis for production issues and customer complaints.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical problems impacting manufacturing, supply chain, or product performance.
• Document process specifications, work instructions, and ECOs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to improve yield and reduce cost.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma to drive measurable improvements.
• Mentor and lead a team with accountability.
• Communicate with stakeholders; manage projects end-to-end.
• Track progress and report risks to leadership.
• Support audits and regulatory documentation as needed.
• Travel to support vendor visits and inter-site collaboration.
