Job summary

Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP is seeking an experienced Manager of Network Services to lead the firm’s global network engineering, operations, and architecture function. You will manage voice, LAN, WAN, cloud connectivity, internet services, and network security platforms, mentoring a team in a 24x7 environment.

The role offers a hybrid Washington, DC arrangement or 100% remote within a firm-approved state.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years leading global network engineering and operations teams.
Experience supporting a 24x7 enterprise environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage geographically distributed teams.
Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching incl. BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, TCP/IP.
Experience with SASE technologies, including SD-WAN, Zero Trust, secure remote access.
Strong knowledge of network security: VPNs, firewalls, NAC, IDS/IPS.
Experience with cloud networking, wireless, internet edge, high availability, monitoring.
Familiarity with Ansible Automation or other network automation.
Knowledge of DR/BC, capacity planning, governance.
Strong PM, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Network Engineers for the firm’s global network environment.
Manage workload, staffing, on-call schedules.
Oversee design, implementation, maintenance of voice, LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud networking.
Establish and maintain network policies, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with change management, DR, security, and documentation.
Partner with Security, Compliance, Systems, Enterprise Apps, Service Desk, and Architecture teams.
Lead network modernization initiatives (SASE, SD-WAN, cloud networking, automation, security).
Review network designs and ensure alignment with business and security requirements.
Manage hardware lifecycle, capacity, availability, performance.
Coordinate with IT leadership, vendors, and project managers to plan and deliver projects.
Develop operational metrics and reporting on network availability and performance.
Facilitate regular operational meetings and strategic discussions.
