Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking an experienced Manager of Network Services to lead the firm’s global network engineering, operations, and architecture. This role reports to the Director of Infrastructure Services and focuses on strategy, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the network infrastructure.

The position supports a 24x7 global environment and may be hybrid in Washington, DC or 100% remote in a firm-approved U.S. state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT or CS.
• 5+ years leading network engineering and operations teams.
• Experience supporting a global, 24x7 enterprise environment.
• Experience managing geographically distributed technical teams.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, TCP/IP).
• Experience with SASE (SD-WAN, Zero Trust, secure remote access).
• Strong knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, NAC, IDS/IPS, secure remote access.
• Experience with cloud networking, wireless, internet edge, high availability, monitoring.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or similar tools.
• Knowledge of DR, BC, capacity planning, governance.
• Strong PM, communication, problem solving, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Network Engineers.
• Oversee design, implementation, maintenance, and support of network services.
• Establish and maintain network policies, procedures, standards, and docs.
• Ensure change-management, maintenance, DR, BC, security, and documentation compliance.
• Partner with IT teams to deliver reliable and secure services.
• Lead network modernization: SASE, SD-WAN, cloud networking, automation, security.
• Review network designs and infrastructure standards for alignment with requirements.
• Manage hardware lifecycle, capacity planning, availability, and performance.
• Coordinate with IT leadership, project managers, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver projects.
• Develop operational metrics and provide reporting on availability and performance.
