Job summary

Viridien seeks a Network Engineer to support our global network infrastructure from the Houston HPC Hub. You will work within the Network Operations team on WAN/LAN, data center, cloud-connected, and security environments, contributing to projects and lifecycle initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on experience with production networks, strong routing/switching knowledge, and proficiency in monitoring and automation concepts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in enterprise/datacentre/network environments.
• Hands-on experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting production network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, WAN, firewall and network security fundamentals.
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, VPNs and TCP/IP.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting/operational management platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across WAN/LAN/data center/cloud environments.
• Monitor daily data center operations and network performance.
• Configure and monitor routing, switching, firewall and security platforms.
• Investigate incidents, contribute to RCA and preventative actions.
• Participate in projects, migrations and lifecycle improvements.
• Collaborate with vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders; on-call rotation.
