Job summary
Northern Trust is seeking a Manager of Network Applications Engineering to lead a global team responsible for the strategy, architecture, and modernization of enterprise network services across on‑prem, cloud, and data center environments.
The role drives technology roadmaps, engineering standards, automation initiatives, and modernization efforts to improve scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency, working with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and business
Qualifications
- 8–10 years’ experience in network engineering within a global enterprise-scale org.
- 5+ years’ experience leading/managing teams.
- Hands-on design engineering for resilient, scalable security in finance.
- Strong cybersecurity understanding and regulatory awareness.
- Experience with automation/orchestration and API scripting.
Responsibilities
- Define and document Network Engineering Standards.
- Create Low-Level Design documents from High-Level Design.
- Manage budgeting and procurement for new services/projects.
- Ensure smooth transition to Network Operations and Ongoing support.
- Lead incident response and on-call escalation when required.
- Develop delivery roadmaps and track technical lifecycle for network services.
- Support architecture in High-Level Design and PoC activities.
