Job summary

Emerson is seeking a strategic Segment Marketing Director for Motion Control to lead global marketing strategies across major industries and technologies. You will guide market intelligence, GTM plans, and collaboration with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to drive growth.

You will develop the Motion Control segment team, set KPI-driven priorities, and partner with cross-functional leaders to translate market insights into actionable opportunities and competitive positioning.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience developing market strategies and translating market and customer insights into growth opportunities.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time domestically and internationally.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead the segment marketing strategy for the global Motion Control business, identifying attractive industries, applications, technologies, and growth opportunities.
Build a robust market intelligence capability, including market sizing, segmentation, customer insights, competitive analysis, and emerging market and technology trends.
Lead the market and growth inputs into SBU strategic planning, helping inform priorities, investments, and resource allocation.
Lead go-to-market strategies for new product launches and strategic growth programs, driving adoption and revenue growth.
Guide positioning, value propositions, messaging, and pricing strategies to differentiate our portfolio and strengthen our market position.
Partner with Product Management and Engineering to translate market needs, technology trends, and portfolio gaps into future product and solution opportunities.
Partner with Sales and Marketing Communications on customer engagement, demand generation, sales enablement, and training strategies.
Identify portfolio whitespace, adjacent market opportunities, and potential partnerships or acquisitions that support long-term growth.
Establish KPIs and operating rhythms to measure the effectiveness of growth programs and commercialization efforts and adjust actions based on results.
Lead, coach, and develop the Motion Control Segment Marketing team, building capabilities and a high-performing, collaborative culture.
