Nidec is seeking a Global Mobility Specialist to support US inbound assignments from NCJ, coordinating pre- and post-arrival activities and acting as trusted resource for assignees and managers.

You will collaborate with immigration counsel, relocation providers, payroll, and HR to ensure compliant, smooth assignments and build a center of expertise for mobility programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, international relations, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, Global Mobility, Immigration Services, Relocation Services, International HR, Employee Services, or related field.
  • Exposure to global mobility, immigration processes, visa sponsorship, relocation coordination or expatriate assignments.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Job Description

The Global Mobility Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Nidec's international workforce by coordinating employee assignments into the United States, with a primary focus on employees assigned from Nidec Corporation Japan (NCJ).

This position serves as the primary coordinator and trusted resource for inbound assignees throughout their assignment lifecycle. You will work closely with employees, managers, immigration counsel, relocation providers, tax consultants, Payroll, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure a positive and compliant assignment experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across cultures, managing complex processes, building relationships, and taking ownership of specialized programs. Over time, the successful candidate will develop into a key subject matter expert for Nidec's U.S. inbound mobility programs.

What You’ll Do
Global Mobility Coordination
  • Coordinate international assignments for employees relocating to the United States.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assignees, managers, and business stakeholders during the assignment process.
  • Manage assignment timelines, documentation requirements, and key milestones.
  • Support employee onboarding, relocation, and transition activities.
Immigration & Compliance
  • Partner with immigration counsel and external service providers to support visa, work authorization, and immigration processes.
  • Coordinate preparation, collection, and tracking of required immigration documentation.
  • Support compliance with immigration regulations, company policies, and assignment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and assignment-related documentation.
Relocation & Assignment Support
  • Coordinate housing, transportation, relocation logistics, and settlement services.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Finance teams to support assignment-related compensation and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate with external tax providers regarding assignment-related tax processes and requirements.
  • Prepare shadow payroll and related payroll activities
  • Support assignment extensions, modifications, and repatriation activities as needed.
Employee Experience & Communication
  • Conduct mobility briefings and provide ongoing support to employees and managers.
  • Help employees navigate life and work transitions associated with international assignments.
  • Build trust and maintain strong working relationships with employees from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Promote a positive, responsive, and service-oriented employee experience.
Program Administration & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of mobility policies, procedures, and program documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and employee experience.
  • Stay informed on immigration, global mobility, and compliance developments.
  • Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Global Mobility, Immigration Services, Relocation Services, International HR, Employee Services, or a related field.
  • Exposure to global mobility, immigration processes, visa sponsorship, relocation coordination, international assignments, foreign national support, or related compliance activities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and navigate complex processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, leaders, external advisors, and service providers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting international employees, visa processes, relocation programs, or expatriate/inpat assignments.
  • Experience working in a global organization or supporting employees across different cultures.
  • Experience working with Japanese business culture or Japanese expatriate populations.
  • Japanese language skills are a plus.
