Job summary

DLR Group seeks a Medical Education Design Leader to shape the future of medical education through planning and design on a global scale. You will lead strategy with the Global Higher Education Leader, expand the national portfolio, and align talent across offices to grow this specialized practice.

This senior role involves guiding programming, planning, and design for medical education environments—from medical schools to simulation facilities—with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of planning and design experience with leadership on medical education projects.
• National portfolio demonstrating expertise in medical education at a firmwide level.
• Proven success in client-facing leadership and pursuing higher education or academic medical work.
• Programming, planning, and design for medical education environments across all design phases.
• Ability to translate strategic vision into actionable priorities with senior leadership.
• Collaborative leader able to influence across multiple offices and disciplines.
• Understanding of integrated design and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication with strong organization.
• Ability to travel as project and practice needs require.

Responsibilities

• Shape strategy with the Global Higher Education Leader and advance worldwide growth for medical education planning and design.
• Lead pursuit strategies, proposals, interviews, and compelling planning and design ideas to win significant work.
• Expand national and international reach by identifying new clients, partnerships, and markets.
• Guide programming, conceptual thinking, and design development for medical education environments.
• Collaborate across offices and disciplines to create shared ownership of outcomes.
• Identify talent needs, support recruitment, and mentor emerging leaders in medical education.
• Lead collaborative workshops and critiques translating medical education models into learning and simulation spaces.
• Strengthen industry presence through conferences, publications, and professional relationships.
