Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Medical Education Design Leader to shape the future of medical education through planning and design. This senior leader will guide the worldwide growth plan, align talent, and expand an established portfolio across the firm and beyond.

You will lead strategic initiatives with a national and international reach, collaborating with offices and disciplines to deliver high-impact learning environments and research facilities for medical education.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of planning and design experience with medical education projects.
• Established national portfolio in medical education.
• Proven client-facing leadership and pursuit/win experience in higher education.
• Expertise in programming, planning, and design for medical education environments.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable priorities with senior leadership.
• Collaborate and lead across multiple offices and disciplines.
• Understanding of integrated design across architectural, engineering, interior design, and specialty disciplines.
• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills; strong organization.
• Willingness to travel as project and practice needs require.

Responsibilities

• Shape strategy with the Global Higher Education Leader and grow the worldwide medical education portfolio.
• Help teams win significant work through pursuit strategy, proposals, interviews, and design ideas.
• Expand national and international reach by building client relationships and identifying new markets.
• Lead programming, conceptual thinking, and design development for medical education environments.
• Collaborate with leaders and multidisciplinary teams across offices to deliver projects.
• Identify talent needs, support recruitment, mentor designers and planners, and develop future leaders.
• Lead collaborative workshops and critiques translating evolving medical education models into learning spaces.
• Share expertise through conferences, publications, and professional relationships to raise visibility.
