Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer with leadership for the Building Mechanical practice. You will lead design across large multi-discipline projects, mentor teams, and drive technical excellence.

The role spans North America with opportunities to influence strategy and growth within HDR's Building Engineering Services Group. As a senior leader, you will collaborate with stakeholders, maintain high-quality delivery, and advance innovation while shaping the practice’s future across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (NA) or Chartered Engineer (EMEA/APAC).
• Aligned with Associates track for professional growth; aspirations towards Principal Professional Associate level.
• Significant design experience related to large, multi-discipline, complex buildings.
• History of exceptional leadership performance and project delivery.
• Recognized technical expert within the local, national, global industry.
• Known throughout HDR by colleagues, clients and industry talent.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the community of practice.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify and develop a network of Technical Experts.
• Drive a service-minded culture across business groups with excellent project execution.
• Develop and implement a mentoring and succession strategy for technical expertise.
• Develop and implement communication strategies to tie North American and global professionals for knowledge sharing.
• Create communities of practice around special skills and emerging services.
• Provide technical excellence and quality control across projects.
• Collaborate with Digital Delivery on digital content and workflows.
• Lead quality initiatives and ensure design oversight on complex projects.
• Recruit and retain top talent and establish HDR as a market leader in mechanical discipline.
