HDR Building Engineering is seeking a senior mechanical engineering leader to drive the discipline across large, complex buildings. You will mentor teams, lead design excellence, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-performance infrastructure and data center projects.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, strategic growth, and global collaboration, aiming to elevate HDR’s profile in the mechanical field while delivering innovative solutions and maintainable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (NA) or Chartered Engineer (EMEA/APAC).
• Aspirations towards Principal Professional Associate level.
• Significant design experience related to large, multi-discipline, complex buildings.
• History of exceptional leadership performance and project delivery.
• Recognized technical expert within the local, national, global industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the community of practice across HDR.
• Partner with stakeholders to build a network of Technical Experts/Subject Matter Experts.
• Lead a culture of exceptional project execution.
• Develop mentoring and succession strategies for technical expertise.
• Coordinate communications across North American and global communities.
• Create practice groups around skills and emerging services.
• Provide design oversight on complex projects.
• Lead quality initiatives and maintain quality culture.
• Recruit and retain top talent and establish HDR as market leader in mechanical discipline.
