Job summary

MacGregor is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer with hydraulic and mechanical competence to repair, maintain and service critical marine equipment. Based in Norfolk, VA, you will work at shipyards and ports worldwide, with travel as required.

You will diagnose hydraulic and mechanical systems, perform refurbishments, and ensure safety and IMS/QHSE compliance while delivering service objectives and detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hydraulic and mechanical experience.
• Background in merchant, offshore, naval or maritime environments.
• Basic understanding of electronics is a plus.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
• Refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions.
• Identify service and spares sales opportunities and communicate to the line manager.
• Support service goals and budgets with accurate reporting.
• Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for all work performed.
• Ensure activities comply with IMS, QHSE and MacGregor rules.
