Job summary

Actalent seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead launch, commissioning, and ramp-up of new equipment at supplier sites worldwide.

You will drive manufacturability reviews, DFMA recommendations, and lean initiatives while coordinating with global suppliers and internal teams. The role involves travel and onsite validation, with a focus on safety, reliability, and process excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10+ years in manufacturing engineering for roll-formed steel components.
• Experience in design for manufacturing and steel manufacturing processes.
• 5+ years serving large OEM customers in renewable energy, automotive, or industrial sectors.
• Proven DFM/DFMA influence on design releases and factory validation.
• Experience leading supplier-facing engineering activities and PLM changes.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts; ability to solve problems.
• Ability to travel up to 75% internationally and domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead launch, commissioning, and ramp-up of new equipment at supplier sites.
• Review drawings and specs to identify manufacturability risks and propose solutions.
• Drive innovation in manufacturing tech for roll forming and related processes.
• Plan prototype builds, supplier trials, and on-site validations.
• Define readiness deliverables and ramp-readiness checklists.
• Conduct supplier factory readiness audits and drive corrective actions.
• Support installation, FAT/SAT, and training with suppliers.
• Review engineering changes in PLM and ensure controlled implementation.
• Provide rapid escalation support and root-cause analysis.
• Document best practices and deploy standardized solutions.
• Participate in NPI readiness reviews and cross-functional meetings.
